Versioning is a feature that is often lacking in applications focusing on online storage. Once you start using versioning, you really will wonder how you lived without it.
If your business is like ours, you often need more than one person to provide input on a document. Before we started using versioning, we used the email method. This was confusing and complicated. As you know, when the document has been emailed more than once, it’s easy to get mixed up on which version you are looking at. Then you have changes coming in from one person on one version and changes from another person on another version, and it’s a huge headache.
DocLanding’s versioning feature solves this problem. You put the document in a file cabinet set to display the latest version and store previous versions. Then you give all the reviewers access to that document. Simple and easy, right?
Now everyone has access to the latest version, they know exactly which one that is, and they can look back at previous versions if they need to. There’s even a lock file feature that locks the file while you are in the process of making changes so another reviewer doesn’t start making changes to that version at the same time. This also works great for the final version so that no one can upload a different one.
